Winning Guild Wars Competitions
May 3rd, 2010 by admin
In the April GvG tournament Chipotle Mexican Bar and Grill [Inc] defeated Seppuku Paradigm [AA] to claim the guild of the month spot. This defeat comes with not only bragging rights of being one of the top GW guilds but prizes are also being given for winning championships.
Does your Guild have what it takes to place in one of these competitions? How much do you contribute to your guild? Are you a student or a leader? Your guild may not be in the top ten list but luckily there are ways to change that.
Something so simple as GW hints can make an incredible improvement in your gameplay. Hints and tips are usually discovered and perfected by some of the game’s top notch players and then passed down to others to learn from.
Guild Wars walkthroughs can also make a world of difference. These are more detailed than tips and will provide you with step-by-step directions to most effectively go about tasks or missions with your guild. Depending on the quality of the guide, you could see dramatic results within hours
In the months to come there will be more competitions. Utilize resources made available to you and see just how far you can go.

Get The Most Out Of Guild Wars Items
April 26th, 2010 by admin
Guild Wars loot can be acquired several different ways. In PvE (Player vs. Environment) when you and your party kill creatures, they drop items and gold. Items are assigned to you and you party members, gold is shared equally between all part members. GW items can also be rewards for completing quests.
Normal creatures usually only drop a single item, bosses, however, can drop up to five items. Guild Wars loot scaling was introduced in 2007. With this update the amount of drops you get are scaled to your party size and the how quickly you kill the enemy.

Guild Wars, unlike some MMOs, doesn’t restrict what kind of equipment your character can have so anything is game. Your warrior can equip a staff and your Necromancer can equip a sword if you please. However to create the strongest avatar possible it is important that your character has the best and most effective equipment available.
To help you out, a GW tip can give you valuable information of how to not only get the most out of your items but will also show you the most effective methods of obtaining the largest amount of loot.
Guild Wars guides are also available. The will provide more detailed item descriptions and will also go more into depth how to best put your items to use and show you ways to obtain the most amount of items.

Making A Guild Wars Farming Macro
April 12th, 2010 by admin
This is a simple guide that will walk you through how to create your own farming macro. A Guild Wars macro will automate certain actions for you while you are AFK (Away From Keyboard). This requires you to download a tool called Macro Express which you can do so here: GW farming macro
STEP 1
In Guild Wars go to an easy District such as Ascalon City, Ruins of Surmia, or Fort Ranik where you can kill lower level mobs easily. Go through a portal and fight your way somewhere into the middle of the map. Once there, kill any Mobs within proximately range but leave the others.
STEP 2
Alt tab out of GW. Then go to your desktop and open up Macro Express. On the left-hand side you will see a capture icon click that looks like a camera click this icon. An Add Macro screen will pop up, hold down the Ctrl key and then push the J key. Now click the Capture Macro button. A warning screen will come up, click yes to continue. Give your “Ctrl J Macro” a Nickname. A Double Alt Warning screen will pop up, click Ok.
STEP 3
Alt tab back into GW and hit the tab key to target a Mob, hit the space key to attack it and then the skills keys you want to use, (click your mouse on the screen in several places to get your character moving if there are no targets within range). Heal yourself often if you have the skills. Repeat this 3 times in different combinations.
STEP 4
Hold down the Ctrl key and hit J. A screen will pop up indicating the Capture is complete. Click Ok and alt tab back into Macro Express. Scroll down the list of macros until you see the macro you have just created “Farming test1” and right mouse click on it. Scroll down to “edit with Scripting Editor” and left mouse click on this line. Under commands scroll down to the Repeat icon and left mouse click on it. Click on “Repeat Start” Now just to the right of this screen are three arrows click on the top one with the blue plus sign. A repeat screen will appear, enter 1000 into the repeat count and click Ok. Now under commands click the Repeat End; click the bottom arrow with the red plus sign. Do a file save and your Marco is ready to use.
STEP 5
Alt tab back into Guild Wars and hold down the Ctrl key and J key, your macro will start.
To stop your macro at anytime hold down the Scroll lock key and then push the Pause key.
STEP 6
When you have stopped your macro from running simply hold down the Alt key and start collecting the gold coins, dye, and loot left by the Mobs. Use your map to follow your steps backwards.
STEP 7
Identify every item that is White, Blue, or Purple (Save Gold Items Unidentified because they sell better to other players as (UNIDENTIFIED). Identifying an item makes the Merchant pay you a higher price. You can start picking up items and selling anything that you don’t want.

Participating In Guild Wars PvP
April 5th, 2010 by admin
Guild Wars PvP (player vs. player) is gameplay where players go to battle with one another in different organized events. Players usually participate in PvP to improve their combat skills; it is generally different from regular PvE (player vs environment) gameplay.
PvP Arenas
- Alliance Battles – 6 organized groups of 4 compete for capture points
- Codex Arena- 2 organized groups of 4 compete using only a limited pool of skills
- Guild Battles- 2 organized groups of 8 compete to kill each other’s Guild Lord
- Heroes’ Ascent- 2 organized groups of 8 compete in trials, finishing in the Hall of Heroes
- Fort Aspenwood/Jade Quarry- 2 random teams compete in a mini-mission
- Random Arenas- 2 organized teams of 8 compete in a deathmatch
Low- level PvP Arenas (for PvE characters only)
- Ascalon Arean in Ascalon City - Level 1-10
- Shing Jea Arena from Shing Jea Monastery – Level 1-10
- Sunspear Arena from Kamadan - Level 1-10

Latest PvP Updates
On April 1, 2010 the game developers added support in the PvP character-creation process for these races:
- Centaurs
- Charr

As stated above, Guild Wars PvP is not only an excellent way of improving your fighting skills to get you better prepared for PvE combat but can also be used to strengthen your guild. Best Guild Wars Leveling Methods
March 25th, 2010 by admin
There is a Guild Wars leveling method that I find interesting. Death leveling is the process of allowing a monster to level up by continually killing you at least several hundred times and once its level is high enough, you kill it for experience (XP).
This is also a method that can be used to raise the level of a pet. Dire pets are formed when the pet makes a lot of kills without receiving any damage. So you simply let the pet kill you repeatedly before charming it.
Some of the more popular locations for death leveling are:
- The moss spider (outside of the Barradin Estate)
- Strider (outside Ashford Abbey or The Barradin Estate
- Charr north of the wall (used by higher level players)

Moss Spider/Strider
You can take many different directions with your Guild Wars leveling. If Death leveling just isn’t for you, but like most players you want the most amount of experience in the least amount of time, you can seek the assistance of Guild Wars macros. These are programs that will take over a designated task in your absence, so it will gain XP points for you while you go about other things.
If you prefer to do the leveling yourself, another route you can take is using GW leveling guide. These act as your own personal tutor to lead you through the game and give you the most constructive methods of leveling. You’ll still get the full game experience while finding the quickest ways to advance your character.

Your Guild Wars Skills
March 18th, 2010 by admin
Have you been noticing some changes in your skill palettes after the February update? The developers of Guild Wars made some major Skill Balances updates where every class was targeted for realignment.
This is the largest skills update ever released by Guild Wars. It includes changes to Shadow Form, and numerous other sets of changes to fix a variety of balance issues. The updates took place in these areas:
- Shadow Form and Invulnerability
- Hammer Mastery in PvE
- Ritualist in Endgame PvE
- Tactics Rework
- Blood Magic Rework
- Other Balance Issues
As we all know, skills are an important part of GW gameplay and advancement. The skills can be acquired many different ways such learned by completing Guild Wars quests, purchased from skill trainers, or winning them in combat.
For any help on improving or building your skills you can turn to Guild Wars guides. Guides will help you rid some of the confusion and complications and give you the best methods in which to advance your GW skills. Another option in helping you build a more skillful character is through the use of Guild Wars bots. In this virtual world you can get a bot or macro to automatically do certain tasks for you.
If you’re anything like me, the game can get a bit overwhelming at times and even getting just a little bit of help can go a long, long way.

The new Guild Wars Bot
March 11th, 2010 by admin
A new GW bot is currently in the making to make my virtual life a lot easier. The release of this Guild Wars Easy Bot is highly anticipated by me and many other Guild Wars members I know. Here is some information about it:
First of all for those who are not too familiar with bots, a Guild Wars macro or bot is a program that automates the tasks it was designed or created for. All in your absence! They are used largely by players that prefer not to be bothered with tedious tasks and would much rather focus on the thrilling parts of the game.
This new GW Easy Bot is a traveler bot. It is specifically designed to automatically travel to the place of your choosing

This Guild Wars Bot is created to be very user friendly even for those with no botting experience, and will not need any separate injections or programs
A couple of the Bot’s current features are:
- 3 Inputs to add custom Waypoints for the X Coordinates and the Y Coordinates; and to add Sleep for events
- Ability to name new paths
- Memory so the bot remembers old paths
For more information about the bot and to take it on a test run when it’s released please visit: Guild Wars Bot

Guild Wars Builds-Know Your Avatar
November 6th, 2008 by admin
In the case of Guild Wars builds, it is clear that nothing will cause players to focus on their build more than a player versus player setting. With the Guild Wars builds that are available, it seems clear that players agonize over every detail and make every possible effort in order to create the best GW build in order to become more powerful than their competitors. When there is such a low level cap, the effort to succeed at player versus player combat requires an extraordinary focus on the build of each character. In this way, the focus on Guild Wars builds outshines the focus on leveling and grinding by a great deal.
Considering how many players are enamored of the Guild Wars PvP (player versus player) lifestyle that the game represents, it is easy to see that there is a tremendous amount of attention being paid to GW builds and the best build for player versus player combat. Naturally, if you want to be competitive, you should take the time to study as much as possible about the different types of Guild Wars builds and make the most of the information that you find. Before ever rolling your first character, you should learn everything that you can about the available builds and classes in order to ensure that you have a chance of succeeding at the Guild Wars PvP oriented combat.
By making the Guild Wars build your focus, you can hope to compete on a level playing field with the multitude of extraordinarily experienced players who have played and tested their Guild Wars build again and again, resulting in a near perfect character build that is almost unbeatable.
